講座摘要：Construction projects rely on a wide range of materials that shape the strength, stability, and appearance of buildings. Yet these materials also influence the cost, durability, and environmental impact of construction activities. Understanding their characteristics is therefore essential for effective design and sustainable practice.This topic will introduce the main materials used in construction, such as concrete, bricks, and structural steel, and outline their key physical and mechanical properties.

嘉賓簡(jiǎn)介：左劍，阿德萊德大學(xué)建筑學(xué)與建筑環(huán)境學(xué)院，教授，博士生導(dǎo)師，主管國(guó)際合作事務(wù)副院長(zhǎng)，博士。澳大利亞聯(lián)邦研究院基金項(xiàng)目（Australian Research Council）評(píng)審專家，英國(guó)皇家特許建造學(xué)會(huì)會(huì)員（ICIOB），中澳城鎮(zhèn)可持續(xù)發(fā)展聯(lián)合中心理事會(huì)理事(CAC_SUD)，英國(guó)皇家特許建造學(xué)會(huì)澳大利亞-亞洲教育委員會(huì)委員。作為主研人參與了澳大利亞聯(lián)邦研究院基金項(xiàng)目《Improving thermal environment of housing for older Australians》《Re-considering Sustainable Building and Design》、澳大利亞氣候變化戰(zhàn)略基金項(xiàng)目《A Framework for Adaptation of Australian Households to Heat Waves》等多項(xiàng)國(guó)家重點(diǎn)項(xiàng)目。長(zhǎng)期從事生態(tài)城鎮(zhèn)、綠色建筑以及建筑業(yè)可持續(xù)發(fā)展的研究，于2013年起被澳大利亞綠色建筑委員會(huì)（Green Building Council Australia, GBCA）邀請(qǐng)，作為專家委員會(huì)中的一員，對(duì)目前執(zhí)行的澳大利亞綠色建筑評(píng)價(jià)體系進(jìn)行評(píng)估，并對(duì)下一代的綠色建筑評(píng)價(jià)體系的總體設(shè)計(jì)提出寶貴意見。發(fā)表英文論文100余篇，其中SCI，SSCI索引期刊論文80余篇，Google Scholar索引數(shù)超過(guò)24500，H-index為85。
